matagal ko nang pinag-iisipan ito... madalas kasi tuwing sumasakay ako ng mrt, dun ako sa dulong car. co-ed kami dun. madalas din, nakakaupo ako dahil north avenue ang aking estasyon. iniisip ko minsan, paano kung yung lalaking nakatayo sa harap ko, bukas ang zipper. paano ko sasabihin sa kaniya? sasabihin ko ba sa kaniya? ano kaya ang gagawin ko kung mapunta ako sa ganung sitwasyon.

at dahil ako'y sinuswerte ngayong araw na ito *sarcastic* nangyari nga! hay nako... yung lalaking nakatayo sa harap ko ang kaawa-awang biktima ng open zipper syndrome XD hay nako! buti na lang huli na nang malaman ko. pagkatapos ng ilang minuto, umalis din siya sa harapan ko at naupo sa tabi ko. buti na lang.

wall of hope

nagpaint kami ng walls sa children's medical center last december. last week dumaan ako dun ulit to see the finished product. ayan, ang ganda na. nung iniwan kasi namin, medyo chaka pa. ngayon ang ganda na ^_^

medyo marami pang walls ang wala pang pintura. pero natutuwa pa rin ako kasi ang ganda ganda ng walls. yey!

ang bagal ko kumain ng dinner...

kaninang lunch time, sabi nung kaibigan ni lola, kumain daw ako ng madami para tumaba ako. dapat daw marami akong kasama kumain para mapilitan akong bilisan habang nakikipag-agawan ng pagkain. eh wala nakong magagawa. ganto lang talaga ako kabagal kumain.

sabi niya, noong dalaga pa ako, kasing payat mo rin ako! nung nagka anak ako bumigat ako! nagkaroon ako ng isa pa, bumigat ulit ako! at nagkaroon pa ulit ako, bumigan nanaman ako! kapag nagka-anak ka, bibigat ka rin. ilang taon ka na ba?
ahh... 23 po.
naku! bata ka pa pala. may boyfriend ka naman diba?
uhh... wala na po kami eh. ewan... hindi ko naman po problema yun.
wag mo kasi susungitan ang mga lalaki. kung kausapin ka, kausapin mo rin. maging mabait ka sa kanila para makita nila ang kagandahan ng iyong puso.

(12 MONTHS)

 

Needed young adventurous graduate interested in helping poor communities particularly the Aytas.

 

Qualifications:  Graduates of Health Education, Field Biology, Agriculture; previous volunteer experience a big plus!

 

Position Description: Perform a variety of tasks related to the development of the Ayta community in Kanawan, Morong, Bataan

 

Work Stations: Kanawan Aytas Reservation and CBMSF Office in New Intramuros Village, Diliman

 

Support will come from the following projects:

 

P10,000/month	CBMSF-PTFCF project on the “Establishment of an Integrated Reforestation, Conservation and Sustainable livelihood Program for the Kanawan Aytas at the Bataan National Park”
P4,500/month	UNESCO project on the “Development of an Educational Program for Aytas on Bioresource Management and Productivity Systems”

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

PTFCF project

Learners:  Ayta and non-Ayta children, youth and young adults who live in the Kanawan Negritos Reservation Area Approach:  Highly participatory and problem oriented   IECC activities -       Develop awareness and concern for biodiversity and conservation -       Teach Aytas about hygienic principles and practices -       Teach Aytas about the importance of recycling and proper disposal of waste -       Participate in regular “darangan” sessions where Ayta elders talk about traditional practices and experiences in protecting their ancestral domain -       Translate project proposal and reports from English to Tagalog; explain to Aytas as needed

UNESCO project

Target Beneficiaries:  Ayta young adults in Morong and Bagac Approach:  Highly participatory and problem oriented   Activities: -       Formulate questions for training needs analysis of Aytas who are young adults and high school graduates -       Carry out the training needs analysis for target beneficiaries

Administrative Support Activities

 

-       Complete relevant administrative tasks including record-keeping and monitoring of activities

-       Write reports as required

-       Contribute to the improvement of approaches and strategies for effective management of projects

-       Provide relevant management information to Project Director as required/needed

-       Other task as may be required from time to time

-       Coordinate with the Tribal Council, Tribal Elders, project team members, and volunteers regarding activities with community

-       Other task as may be required from time to time
